The I Do Wedding Awards are incredibly special to us because they recognise something that sits right at the heart of everything we do: the experience we give our couples.

When we first found out we’d been nominated, we were over the moon. To know that couples who had trusted us with one of the biggest days of their lives felt strongly enough about their experience to support us was already a huge compliment.

To then go on and win!!

That’s something we’re incredibly proud of.

So, before anything else, we need to say a very big thank you.

To every couple who chose The Fleece for their wedding day, every person who took the time to vote, every lovely review, every recommendation and every kind word – this award belongs to you just as much as it does to us.

We might have beautiful Yorkshire countryside views, wonderful food, two AA Rosettes and a venue we’re extremely proud of, but none of those things can create an unforgettable wedding on their own.

People do that.

And we happen to think we have some rather brilliant ones.

Carrie-Anne, Lucy, Laura, Becky and Antonia are there for our couples from the very beginning of their wedding journey.

They’re the people answering the questions, calming the nerves, keeping track of the details, helping with the planning and making sure that when the big day finally arrives, our couples can stop worrying about the logistics and simply enjoy it.

Behind them is an entire team working away to make each wedding feel every bit as special as it should.

With around 120 weddings taking place at The Fleece each year, that takes a huge amount of organisation, experience and care.

But we never want a Fleece wedding to feel like just another wedding.

Every couple is different. Every celebration is different. And every wedding deserves the same enthusiasm and attention we’d give to the very first one.

That’s something we’ve always believed and having it recognised by The I Do Wedding Awards makes this win feel particularly special.
